Using the Select menu

You can use commands in the Select menu to select the entire layer, deselect everything, or to reselect an area you just deselected.

To select all pixels on a layer:

1. Select the layer in the Layers palette.
2. Choose Select > All.

To deselect selections:

Do one of the following:

• Choose Select > Deselect.
• If you are using the rectangular marquee, elliptical marquee, or lasso tool, click anywhere in the image outside the selected area.

To reselect the most recent selection:

Choose Select > Reselect.

You can also choose selection commands from a context menu while using the marquee, lasso, or magic wand tools. To access this menu, right-click (Windows) or Ctrl+click (Mac OS) in the image window.
