Quitting

Once you are done with any application, you must quit it. Note that unlike PCs, closing an application's window does not quit the program. The program remains in memory and can cause memory overloads. You should always QUIT applications on Macintoshes.

To quit SimpleText, choose Quit from SimpleText's File menu.

If you have not saved your most recent changes, SimpleText will ask you to save them.

What if you want to quit open applications and don't know what applications are open? Go to the upper right hand coner of the screen. Click on the icon furthest to the right. This displays as a menu all open applications. The application that has a check mark next to it indicates that it is the active application. You can bring up other open applications by choosing them from that menu. Once one of those applications is "up" you can choose Quit from its File menu.
