The fourth page should look as follows when you are done editing:

When you are done viewing the completed version of the fourth page, there will be a link provided that will take you back to this part of the tutorial. If you want to view the completed version throughout the tutorial simply click on Netscape's Back button.

Notice the word Sonobe in the second line of text on page 4. Sonobe is suppose to have an accent over the e. Word provides a grid of various symbols and special characters you can add to your documents. You simply choose Symbols from the Insert menu.


Inserting Word's Symbols and Special Characters




Highlight the letter e in the word Sonobe.

Choose Symbol... from the Insert menu.

Choose (normal text) as the font style.

Within the Symbol dialog box, search for the letter e with an accent above it. Select the accented e, click the Insert button and then close the dialog box.

The final draft has the following drawing in it:


You will use Word's drawing tool to draw the cube.


Using Word's Drawing Tool




Click on the Drawing button located in the Standard toolbar to display the Drawing toolbar.

Within the blank space under the heading: The Spiked Icosahedron, draw the figure above.

When you are done drawing the cube select each piece (object) of the drawing and Group them using the Group button () located on the Drawing toolbar under the Draw menu.

Select the drawing of the cube and position appropriately.

The last edit on page 4 will be inserting a table.
The final draft contains the following table:


Word allows you to easily organize information in tables by using the Insert Table button () located on the Standard toolbar.


Inserting a Table




Scroll down to the bottom of page 4.

Position the insertion point after the last paragraph mark and the Page Break. This is where you will be inserting the table.

Click and hold the Insert Table button located on the Standard toolbar.

Observe the blank grid that appears below the Insert Table button.


You can drag over the grid and highlight the number of rows and columns you want your table to contain.

Drag over the grid and highlight a 7 by 4 grid.


Your document should look as follows:


Word positions the inserstion point in the first cell of the table. You can immediately type text in the table. To move amongst the cells of the table, you can use the arrow keys.

Fill in the cells of the table with the text displayed in the table below.


Format the column headings so that each heading is bold and an increased font size.

Format the table so that all entries, including the headings, are centered.

Your table is now complete, except you need to put a blank line between the last line of text and the table.

Insert a blank line between the last line of text and the table.

You have finished editing page 4, it is now time to edit page 5.
