Intelligent and Traffic Anomaly Diagnosis through the Integration of Diverse Information Sources

In the third year of the project the group extends the Year I and Year II efforts to look at algorithms and software that can be used for traffic anomaly diagnosis. We design and develop a prototype web based system that includes a database and GIS (Geographic Information System) to provide support for the detection of traffic accidents, stoppages and jams. The algorithms are developed and integrated into the software. The group also develops a web-based prototype for the management of planned incidents that result from the maintenance of highways and the installation of utility equipment.
