CSC 110 - Survey of Computer Science
Fall 2010
Welcome to the CSC 110 Web site.
This course is designed as a first course for computer science majors. It
will
give
students a broad introduction to various areas of
computer science, with an emphasis on problem-solving as the core of the
discipline.
The course will introduce real problems and problem-solving techniques in
areas such as:
- algorithm design and analysis
- software engineering
- operating systems
- digital forensics
- networking
- artificial intelligence
- computer graphics
- bio-informatics
- theoretical computer science
We will also make an effort to allow students to meet our faculty members,
and to learn about some of the interesting things
we are doing in the department.
