2019 BOSPRE URI Site

This year the University of Rhode Island is one of the sites for the preliminary round of the the Northeast region of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest. BOSPRE 2019 is a cooperative effort between four host sites (Stonehill College, Providence College, UConn, URI), and Harvard, which provides judging and problems.

You are responsible for reading all instructions from the BOSPRE website. Remember there is a $75 per team entrance fee payable by check or cash. Please write your check to "The University of Rhode Island".

NEW RULES for BOSPRE 2019

  • You must bring and use your own laptop(s). Workstations will NOT be provided;
  • The laptop you use for your contest account terminal CANNOT be used to browse the web;
  • You may use a SECOND laptop to browse the web but CANNOT access the contest account from this second laptop;
  • You can bring mice and keyboards for your laptops, but NOT displays;
  • A live usb operating system, BOSPRE USB, is provided for you to use on both the terminal and web browsing laptops (its up to a team's coach whether the team uses BOSPRE USB);

Schedule

BOSPRE 2019 will be held on Saturday October 19th, 2019 at Library 166, Robert L. Carothers Library (URI Kingston Map).

9:30-10:15 Registration outside Library 166
10:00-10:25 Network setup, testing, review of contest rules
10:30-3:30 Programming contest in Library 166
3:30-4:00 Final scores announced

Lunch boxes will be available for contestants outside the contest area by 12:30pm. No food is allowed in Library 166, so please eat your meal outside.

Directions and Parking

The contest will take place at room 166 of the Robert L. Carothers Library Building. Visitor parking is available behind the Robert J. Higgins Welcome Center. Visitor passes are not required on weekends. The Library is a short walk from the visitor parking lot (refer to the Kingston Campus Map).

The Kingston Railroad Station is an Amtrak stop and is conveniently located 2 miles from URI's Kingston campus. Please see the AMTRAK website for schedule details.
