In this lesson, you will learn to include an original
powerpoint image in your HTML document.
The first thing you must do in this tutorial is open Powerpoint and create an original drawing. Make sure that the drawing you create is the size of the entire page. Powerpoint does not allow you to crop images therefore you will have to resize the image in your HTML document. If you need help you can refer back to the Powerpoint97 Tutorial for your PC.
Once your drawing is complete you will want to save it.
Choose Save As from the File menu.
From the Save as Type list box select .gif.
Close PowerPoint.
The next thing that you will want to do is to make your background transparent. We will use Animagic for this. Animagic has been installed on all the PC's in the Envision lab. If you are working anywhere else you will need to download by clicking here.
Open Animagic by clicking on the Start button, then select Programs from the menu that appears. From this menu Animagic GIF will appear. Select it.
Open your GIF file.
Select the transparency tool ()
Click on the background of your image.
Your image now has a transparent background. Save the image.
You should know how to insert this image into your document from the previous topic. To change the size of the image you will need you include WIDTH=50% inside your img src tag. It should look like this:
