URI Digital Forensics Center
The URI Department of Computer Science's
Digital Forensics Center (DFC) is located on the URI campus and is equipped with a full suite of digital forensic tools. The DFC mission is comprised of three aspects:
- Service. The DFC performs digital forensic investigations for law enforcement, attorneys, and organizations. We have a professional staff with investigative experience.
- Research. The DFC performs research and development of digital forensic technology and investigations of technical issues both as part of the digital forensics curriculum (for student enrichment) and at the request of organizations.
- Teaching. The DFC has URI student interns that work on cases and research to gain experience. The DFC staff is accustomed to involving interns in their investigations and research.
